About MacKenzie
MacKenzie Cadenhead was born and raised in New York City where she mastered her driver’s ed lessons on the Lower East Side, but never quite learned how to ride a bike. She has a BA in English from Haverford College and an MFA in Dramaturgy from Brooklyn College. Favorite past employment includes pizza delivery person, IHOP waitress, production dramaturg, and comic book editor at Marvel Comics (not in that order). At Marvel she developed new content for young and teen readers, including the all-ages Marvel Adventures line, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, Spellbinders, and Runaways. (Check them out—they’re great!)
These days she writes children’s books and reads them to her family, most notably to her dogs, Smudge and Holly Jolly. Her middle-grade fantasy novel, Sally’s Bones, YA science fiction thriller, Sleeper, and young reader chapter book series Marvel Super Hero Adventures are all available wherever books are sold.
